One of the worst crimes a bingo player can commit is that of theft within the game. In Masaryktown, Brooksville an unnamed female was arrested for the heinous crime of cheque forgery in her local Masaryktown bingo hall. When Amanda Thomas strolled into the halls of the Masaryktown Community Centre, she went straight for the cashier with two packs of bingo cards.

One was for $57 and the other for $54 – this is all according to the report that was filed by the sheriff’s office. Amanda also purchased a $2 pack of cards, bringing her total purchase to $123. Thomas allegedly wrote out a Bank of America cheque for $155 using the company name of Nu-Tech Carpet Master Inc. She allegedly signed the cheque with the name ‘Jennifer Wood’.

Police approached Thomas as she left the community center and she identified herself as Jennifer Wood, even producing photo identification that featured that name. However, after Thomas was read her Miranda rights, she admitted to signing the check under a different name. She told deputies that she had found the chequebook on the sidewalk, and the Florida identification card at a Wal-Mart bathroom.

Thomas was arrested for felony forgery, uttering a forged instrument, criminal use of an identification and petty theft. She was taken to the Hernando County Jail where she was placed under a $4250 bail. If you are a bingo player, make sure that you never resort to crime to enjoy your games!
