Turn around of gambling laws?

Anyone with an interest in online bingo will know that the changes in US legislation last year greatly impacted numerous online gambling sites and players across the States.
It seems like there may be a glimmer of hope for those who wish to see a change in the harsh new laws. This is largely thanks to a congressman, Barney Frank, who has dedicated his time and energy to the cause of relaxing the laws and approaching the problems caused by online gambling from a different perspective.
Barney Frank is opposing Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) through his Internet Gambling Regulations and Enforcement Act (IGREA) and it seems his support base is growing with an upsurge in the number of representatives supporting him.
The introduction of UIGEA, the main purpose of which is to bring a halt to foreign online gambling operators accessing the American market, impacted heavily on both the industry and players last year.
Frank’s IGREA bill is set out to license and regulate US online gambling rather than outlaw it and many members of Congress are switching allegiance or in some cases claiming they never supported the UIGEA in the first place.
While Frank is still uncertain that his support (currently at 23 congressional representatives) is sufficient to challenge the UIGEA successfully he is reportedly determined to continue his campaign.
Keep ‘em peeled, online gambling fans – the fat lady hasn’t sung on this hot topic yet!
