For one couple the delight over the winning of a mega jackpot for one of them turned to ugly recriminations and the paying out of a whopping £27,880 for the other when he reneged on his offer to split his property in return for half the winnings.
When Karen Bryson won a jackpot of £103,247 in the National Bingo she happily agreed to split the cash in return for her name being added to the title deed of Alex Bunce’s property, in which the couple were living
Over the course of the following year the couple following the win the pair spent the money on various items. However, when the time came for Mr Bunce to make good his end of the bargain he refused to do so. Initially he made excuses, then, according to Ms Bryson, "Once all of the money had been spent, Mr Bunce moved out and he forced me to pay rent."
It is not public knowledge whether either of the now ex-couple play online bingo or hall bingo regularly.
