New Gambling Laws - Poland

Polish newspaper the Warsaw Voice has reported that the local government in that country is planning to introduce new online gambling regulations. These are to be similar to Italian legislation, the paper said.
The purpose of the legislation will be to clamp down on foreign online bookmakers that operate in Poland without any regulations. The government aims to address this by amending the current gambling law.
The court ruled that an operator licensed in one EU member may legally provide similar services throughout the European Union. In substantiating this decision the court said, "National regulations that prohibit the acceptance of bets unless one has a license issued by the relevant member state restrict the freedom of services".
This ruling concerns three bookmakers who had accepted bets in Italy on behalf of a British-based firm that had no license to conduct bookmaking business in that country.
