Beware of phishing scam
An email- supposedly from the online money transfer service- Neteller, is doing the rounds and luring information out of unsuspecting Neteller users. Online Bingo players should be careful not to fall for this phishing scam if they use the “e-Wallet” Neteller.
Neteller is one of the money transfer services which Online Bingo players can make use of to deposit funds into their bingo accounts. The fake emails are an attempt from phishers to acquire sensitive information from users such as usernames, passwords and credit card details. These should not be communicated to just anyone as this could result in loss of funds if in the wrong hands.
The email that is doing the rounds advises Neteller customers that the company intends to re-introduce IP tracking from the 31st of March. The email received from a fake Neteller email account, “communications@neteller”, should NOT be responded too. The Neteller support team is advising all customers to forward any suspicious looking emails and emails from “communications@neteller” to phishing@neteller.com for further investigation.
The email from the phishers further advocate users planning to go overseas to click on a link which will give Neteller the permission to operate the account while the user is away from home. Neteller urges users not to take note of this information as phishers can use the information to their advantage to successfully transfer funds out of users accounts.
