Trinity Mirror national publishers reported a nine percent fall in revenue because of a decline in their paid facilities such as online bingo.

One such service is Mirror Bingo. The publisher owns major titles including the Mirror, the People, Sunday Mail and Daily record and went on to say that the loss reflects the continued decline in bingo revenue.

The reason behind this can be attributed the deregulation of marketing rules regarding online gambling. Publishers like Trinity Mirror provide free news sites as a way of attracting customers and then using paid services to increase their revenue.

The problem is that many bingo sites are now able to advertise on daytime television which has, of course, resulted in stiffer competition for the company. The loss was recorded after the first 17 weeks of the year, and even in spite of a growth of 13 percent in their online advertising income.

Mirror Bingo had initially given Trinity Mirror a burst, but it has been in a slow decline since 2009, with their annual report revealing a drop due to increased competition and the recession.

A drop at one end means more options for the player though. Why not browse through the quality bingo websites on offer, read some bingo reviews and sign up yourself? Within moments you will find out why online bingo has taken the world by storm.
