Gala Coral is currently in talks with software company Playtech regarding technology for its online bingo, casino games and sports betting companies.

Experts have likened the deal to the one made between Playtech and bookmakers William Hill, but believe instead of having a joint venture with the gambling giant, Playtech will simply use software from the company.

Playtech only recently resolved its dispute with William Hill regarding their joint venture, after the bookmakers had applied for an injunction to stop Playtech from breaking deals with other gaming operators.

The settlement of this has now given Playtech the freedom to offer its services and Gala is already taking advantage while Rival Ladbrokes is also supposedly considering a deal with the company.

A source told the Mail Online that Gala is making money through its online bingo portal, but its sports betting is not quite at the level it should be.

Gala confirmed that it would be splitting into various divisions as part of an internal restructuring, which the source also claimed was a positive move for the company.

The end result of the split could see them sell a number of the businesses but it is likely that they would wait for an improved market to get higher prices.

They have already reportedly turned down an offer for their bingo business, which includes online bingo, but have declined to officially comment on the reported Playtech talks.
