Dragonfish Bingo has recently released its May newsletter which covered an important security development for those who play online bingo. Back in April they introduced a clever new protection system for players who felt that they should take some time off without the risk of giving in to temptation. It’s called ‘Self Exclusion Logic’ (colloquially known as an SE period or even a cooling off period) and it essentially freezes the account of a player per their request.

The benefits to this are that they player doesn’t have to actually close their account, which would mean having to go through all the hassles of opening a new one again should they change their mind later. The frozen account will remain inactive for the period requested by the client, though he or she should choose their SE period carefully, as the account can’t be reactivated before the end of the requested period comes along.

To give an example; if you’ve just won a jackpot of thousands of pounds and you want to take a break for a while, without the temptation of getting back into the action, you request Self Exclusion from the admin for a set period. This would also work for a player who may be suffering a losing streak and wanted to save himself from losing more money before his luck had a chance to change again.

Periods offered for cooling off/SE are:

• 1 day SE
• 7 days SE
• 14 days SE
• 1 month SE
• 2 months SE
• 3 months SE
• 6 month SE

Your BARC reports will tell your chat room buddies that you’re taking an SE period, so don’t worry about them thinking that you’re entirely gone from the scene. This is also a kind of ‘radio silence’ since, until your SE time is over, you won’t receive mails from your site regarding bingo reviews or any bingo bonuses, which helps you to avoid being enticed. At anytime, you can take this time off and once it’s done, you’re ready to play online bingo again!
