When bingo player Rochelle Olson sued comedian Sascha Baron Cohen, or rather his alias Bruno, she had no idea that the outcome would end up with her being ordered to pay the funny man’s legal expenses. After a lengthy court battle, judges ruled in favour of Cohen and Olson was left to pick up the costs.

The incident was originally described as an assault; however the player later admitted that no harm was actually done and that it was more a case of ‘harassment’. Olson sued the actor for ‘emotion distress’ resulting from his vulgar shenanigans, which led to the Bruno movie hitting box office levels, yet upsetting many people in the process.

Cohen has long been notorious for his characters and their antics. One of the most popular by far was his gangster wannabe character Ali G, who caused mayhem wherever he went. Then came Borat, a legendary character made infamous by the luminous yellow one piece swimming costume that soon gained the actor world-wide fame on the internet and beyond. Bruno is every bit as shocking and controversial, however with a sense of humour intact you can’t help laughing as he derails a bingo game in this movie.
