Bingo Patterns

Online bingo game patterns can be found in 75-ball bingo as well as 90-ball bingo to a lesser degree. Players need to mark off their numbers on their cards in specific patterns to win the bingo game, with patterns ranging from basic coverall or lines across, to fun patterns themed for promotions – from suns to hearts or even numbers and letters.

To understand how patterns work, first you need to understand how pattern-based games are played. In 75-ball bingo games, cards are marked with 25 random numbers from 1-75, in a 5x5 grid with a free space in the middle. A pattern is then created on the card, and players need to mark off all numbers that fall within the pattern. Once they have matched this pattern, they have won the bingo game.

Here are some examples of bingo patterns you might see when playing bingo online:

Coverall Pattern



This pattern is also called a Blackout, and is fairly simple – players need to mark off all numbers on their card (except for the free space in the middle). These patterns are usually used in high stake games or jackpot games as they are a bit tougher to win.

Diagonal Line Pattern



This is a fairly simple pattern with a line that runs across the card, from either the right or left top corner. Players need to get all the numbers that fall within this line to win the prize.

Four Corners Pattern



Often played for quick games or even speed bingo, this pattern has four corners and is won when the first player to get all four corners fills their online bingo card.

Sun Pattern



Sun or other fun themed patterns are often seen during bingo promotion pages, and are usually themed to occasions or holidays, such as summer or Christmas for example.

In 90-ball bingo games there are no patterns as such, however games are won either on one line, two lines or three lines (full house) – all straight across. These games can be a bit easier to win, and also offer more chances to win, although the one or two line online bingo prizes are not as high as the full house prize.
